| History of the Cruises Our Princess Series of “Jeannie”, “Elaine”, and “Sheena” were manufactured in Hamburg, Germany from 1990 to 1992. The ships are 129.15 meters (423.72 ft.) long and 16.8 meters (52.82 ft.) wide. Our ships are the only ones operating in the Three Gorges area of the Yangtze River that were manufactured in a foreign country (Germany). They are among the longest vessels with the largest passenger capacity on the river. Our vessels were made with very high-quality materials and the state-of-the-art technology and were the first to receive the five-star rating in China. There are other 46 sister ships which have been sailing in Northern Europe and in places such as the Baltic Sea, the Volga, Rhine, and Nile rivers, Lake Baikal, etc. These ships are also the major ones sailing on coastal waters and interior rivers all over the world. The electrical and mechanical equipment and passenger facilities of our ships were manufactured in advanced shipbuilding countries like Germany, England, the United States of America, and Japan. The vessels meet the code requirements of all the developed countries in the world. Accommodation Each of our three vessels has 122 standard rooms, 14 single rooms, and 10 luxurious suites which all have one-meter-wide (3.28 ft. wide) stainless steel windows. The windows may open for enjoying the beautiful scenery. Deck Features Our ships are the only ones on the Yangtze River that have the entire outside deck for walking and viewing. Its width of 2.1 meters (6.89 ft.) provides a very comfortable place sheltered from rain and sun to view the river, walk around, and do morning exercises. The solar top deck offers a spectacular view of the changing scenery. Air Conditioning System The maximum capacity of our air conditioning station is 71,500 Kcal per hour. Passengers on board will feel refreshed with our 50% high-standard replacement of fresh air on board of “Jeannie”, “Elaine” and “Sheena” compared with most other ships’ 20% maximum air replacement rate. Shock Absorption and Sound Proof Our ships’ shock absorption and sound proof system make passengers on board feel as if they were walking on solid ground. They will not feel the rocking and vibration, or hear the noise of vessel sailing. Fire Retardant Materials Meeting the most stringent manufacturing standards established in the developed countries, all the decorating materials, carpets, furniture, curtains, etc. are fire retardant. Our first-class, leveled, slick, and steady floors are well insulated from heat and sound. Environmental Protection Systems The environmental protection systems of our ships utilize world-class technology that does not cause pollution to the Yangtze River. They also set the standards for environmental protection for the domestic ship-building industry. Attraction – The Lesser Three Gorges and Mini Three Gorges The Lesser Three Gorges and Mini Three Gorges are famous for its primitive environment. With their beautiful natural landscape and man-made and cultural attractions, they are called the “Emerald Passageway” of the Three Gorges. Attraction – The Three Gorges Dam The Three Gorges project is the largest damming and water conservation project in the world. Flat lakes are made along steep gorges. Huge lakes up to 600 miles long are new spectacular scenes of the world. Recreation on Board Our China Regal Cruises will not only arrange for tourists to visit historical sites, but also offer many entertainment activities on board, such as traditional cultural shows, movies, Chinese dance, Chinese calligraphy, folk arts, and lectures on the history, geography and the geology of the Yangtze River and the Three Gorges Dam Project. The Misty Chamber is a viewing hall where visitors can enjoy the splendid scenery quietly. It has a library, which provides various recreational materials such as chess, poker, books, magazines, newspapers, etc. Guests can make friends on board with people from afar. It will definitely be an unforgettable experience to visit the Three Gorges with families and friends. The Dream Lotus Bar which holds up to 60 people is the place with the most romantic atmosphere on board. With the gentle music flowing through the air, our guests can have a drink while enjoying the beautiful scenery along the Yangtze River. It will be very enjoyable to invite friends to share such experiences. With the capacity of 140 people, the Jade Ballroom is the major venue for night activities, where one can enjoy karaoke, disco, Chinese stunts, and various shows. The show by our crew members is one of the most fantastic features of the cruise. These seamen serve as waiters or waitresses at our restaurant during the day, but are stars of the parties in the evening. The ballroom offers a variety of drinks. |
